Deborah Moore, CPNP
Founder and Lead Practitioner
At the heart of Sun Psychiatry Santa Barbara is my vision for a comprehensive and personalized approach to psychiatric care.
My journey began at UCLA, and my initial experiences in psychiatric care were at the West LA VA, where I saw firsthand the profound impact of mental health on overall well-being. I graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1992. After graduating, I became a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit RN at Cedars-Sinai, as well as UCLA.
In 1999, I graduated UCLA with a Master of Science in Nursing and started my career as a Nurse Practitioner. Over the years, I’ve gained expertise in various medical specialties, including Peri-Operative Care, and education for the Valley Children’s Hospital. I returned to my specialty, Psychiatry, in 2013.
Sun Psychiatry Santa Barbara was founded in 2021, when I had the opportunity to take over a psychiatric practice. With over 15 years dedicated to psychiatric care, I have grown the practice using my unique approach to mental health.

“I think I’ll be a nurse when I get big. I’ll work in a hospital and take care of all the people.”
